Google Play Closed Testing Track Stuck: Troubleshooting Guide

You uploaded your bundle, set up testers, and the track shows zero activity. Walk through these seven causes.
1. Review is still pending
First release on a new track is reviewed. Testers see “not available” until review completes. Usually a few hours.
2. The opt-in URL points to a different track
Each track has its own URL. If you've created multiple tracks, confirm you shared the closed-testing one, not internal.
3. Testers are in the wrong country
If your release rolled out to specific countries only, testers elsewhere won't see the app.
4. Device incompatibility
Min SDK too high, target architecture mismatch, or required features your tester's device lacks.
5. Tester used a non-Google-account device
Huawei phones without Google Services can't test.
6. Tester opted in but didn't install
Common. Send a follow-up message.
7. Tester installed but app is dormant
They need to actually open it for the device to phone home.
